We are a LLoyds registered, NERS Accredited, Independent Connection Provider (ICP) who can provide Contestable Works at voltages up to and including 132kV and National Grid self bay works up to 275kV and 400kV.

Chief executive officer
Kelvin Ruck
Kelvin joined G2 Energy in August 2010 as Operations Director and took on the role as Managing Director in October 2014. With 35 years’ experience in the industry, Kelvin has also worked for many of the regional DNO’s, giving him a vast industry and technical knowledge in all facets of power engineering; from development, into design and build through to generation and ultimately power distribution.

Nigel Hughes
Nigel started with G2 Energy in 2013 as our Senior Construction Manager, becoming Operations Director in 2015. Nigel is qualified and experienced Chartered Electrical Engineer who is highly experienced in Operational, Contract, Project Management and Consultancy work.
Finance director
Richard Bacon
Richard started with G2 Energy in September 2022 as our Finance Director. With 30 years’ experience within the construction industry, Richard has worked mainly across Tier 1 main contractors in regional and high value major project accountant roles and joins g2 following completion of a successful 3-year growth plan in a facades business where he was Finance Director.
Richard brings a background of transformation, change management and controls within construction businesses alongside experience of accelerated growth requirements.

Clive Naylor
Clive bought a wealth of Tendering knowledge with him when he joined G2 Energy in 2021. He has almost 20 years’ experience in the Electrical Engineering, and ICP industries combined.
People & Talent Director
Helen Gilbert
Helen joined G2 in Energy in Jan 2022 as a newly appointed People & Talent Director. She has mainly worked within retail, leisure and hospitality sectors with over 25 years HR knowledge 15+ years as a Director and brings a diverse background and knowledge to a growing business.

Ian joined G2 Energy in May 2022 as the Head of our legal team. He is a solicitor with over 25 years’ experience in the construction, infrastructure, and energy fields. He has previously worked in-house in the nuclear industry and waste to energy industries and in private practice acting for energy generators, National Grid, ICPs, EPC contractors, and water utilities.
Having previously been a legal consultant to the NEC he is now a member of the contract committee of the IChemE. Ian is also a member of Glas Cymru, the parent company to Dwr Cymru/Welsh Water.
